Ola Jakuć

Designer, artist, educator
Working at the intersection of design, science and living systems

Aleksandra (Ola) Jakuć is a designer, artist, and educator working at the intersection of design, science, and industry. She graduated in Product Design from the University of the Arts in Poznań and in Contextual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven. After completing her studies in the Netherlands, she returned to Poland, where she established an independent practice rooted in collaboration with local manufacturers working with glass and metal.

Her work explores relationships between industrial forms, natural processes, light, and living systems. Jakuć approaches material as an active participant rather than a passive resource, developing objects and installations through dialogue between technology, environment, and biological processes. Her practice is informed by post-anthropocentric thinking and long-term, research-based experimentation.

Alongside her independent practice, she has been affiliated since 2021 with the Faculty of Architecture at Białystok University of Technology, where she teaches design, composition, and color theory, and supervises the interdisciplinary student research group FORMA. She is currently pursuing a PhD focused on post-anthropocentric design andinterdisciplinary collaboration between design andbiology.
