Bezkres Sybiru
In the Circle of Brightness is an interactive installation, presented as part of the exhibition The Boundlessness of Sybir.The work invites viewers into an intimate encounter with their own emotions. Its minimalist exterior conceals a space that only fully reveals itself once entered, creating a sense of separation from theoutside world and evoking anonymity. Inside, the viewer is confronted with a subtle yet intense atmosphere that encourages introspection and emotional awareness.
The installation reflects on the experiences of Siberian exiles and the difficulty of fully understanding personal histories that remaindistant and fragmented. Through the use of small aluminum elements and immersive light, the work evokes both discomfort and contemplation, referencing collective memory while maintaining a deeply personal dimension.
Inspired by the architectural language of the Sybir Memorial Museum,the project incorporates materials such as metal pipes and perforated surfaces, creating a visual and spatial dialogue with its surroundings. Light, positioned above the viewer, becomes a symbolic element of hope, present even in moments of uncertainty.
Open to multiple interpretations, the installation emphasizes both the universality of human emotions and the uniqueness of individual experience.
