Hydro-sphere at Alcova

Milan
2025

The outdoor setting allowed the installation to operate as a livingsystem, directly exposed to light, air, and changing environmental conditions. Water-filled aluminum planters hosted aquatic vegetation, forming micro-ecosystems that introduced biodiversity into the exhibition context. Placed on the balcony, the work extended beyond the interior display, engaging with the landscape and blurring the boundary between architecture and nature.

Within Alcova’s curatorial framework - known for site-specific interventions in historically layered spaces - the project emphasized the relationship between design, ecology, and context. By activating the balcony as a space of coexistence between human and non-human actors, Hydro-sphere proposed an alternative model for integrating living systems into built environments.
